Meet Barn Dance Callers for November!

As you know, Barn Dances are returning to the PCA mid-November.  How exciting is that?!  Have you marked your calendars?  Dusted off the dancing shoes?

On November 11 (7:30-9:30pm), the evening dance will be called by veteran Don Veino!  Don loves to create opportunities for dancers to have FUN, no matter the group size or level of experience.  He is one of the organizers for the Monday night contra dance series at Concord's Scout House, and specializes in highlighting local New England talent, as well as helping new dancers and performers get their start working with experienced performers and dancers. Don has been writing quite a few contra and other types of dances recently, and his dances have been called in several venues across North America and overseas! Learn more about Don at veino.com.

On November 12 (2-4pm), the family dance will be called by Alex Cumming! Alex is a folk singer, accordionist, pianist, dance caller and Artistic Director for Revels North. He performs songs and tunes from around the United Kingdom and America with a great depth of knowledge of the tradition. Alex has made his mark on the folk scene with his rhythmic dance-able accordion style, strong voice and his fun and engaging stage presence. Alex is also an experienced teacher and workshop leader. He has run group workshops in Dance, song and music for many schools and some of the top folk festivals and organizations including CDSS (Country Dance and Song Society of America), Sidmouth Folk Week, EFDSS (English Folk Dance and Song Society), Towersey Festival, Folk Arts Center of New England and Folk South West.
